Dubbo Sewing Machines & Patchwork was purchased by Jean Thurston and started trading on 1 st December 1994 after two years of working for Janome Dubbo Sewing Machines in October 1992.
Since then the business has grown and Jean moved from 35 Talbragar Street to 21 Talbragar Street five years ago. This has given us much more floor space and also a great position, the store now being the first store around the corner from Macquarie Street.
As Jean added Bernina Machines and Overlockers to the range and their trading name was changed to Dubbo Sewing Machines & Patchwork (DSM&P).
Jean has taken many courses in patchwork, trying to have one with a national tutor at least once a year, and the patchwork side of the business has really taken off. The store has one of the largest ranges for the central west. Lots of books, rulers, templates, patterns, etc are available or can be ordered. Clover products are also available.
After 6 and a half years we have a range of programs for embroidery machines, which is very popular as we like to add that extra something special to an outfit or to our décor.
