ClayMotion was established by myself, Dawn Whitehand, a practicing artist since 2000. I have a PhD in visual arts, majoring in sculptural ceramics; have exhibited widely internationally and Australia wide; have written peer review and general journal articles; have taught at University level through to local community centre level; and my artworks are held in gallery and private collections. Images of my work and my Curriculum Vitae can be viewed at my website.
ClayMotion is located in Dunnstown, Ballarat, at the foot of Mt Warrenheip, and offers a beautiful and peaceful art-making environment.
The studio is located 10km from Ballarat, one hour’s drive from Melbourne.
Facilities include a gas kiln, a pit for pit-firing, abundant open space for teepee firings, electric wheels, moulds, glazes, modeling tools, clay and much more.
The property features a sculptural installation, in the form of a healing circle, on a creek bank and surrounded by a natural treescape, and is available for well-being workshops and meditations
