Dyed & Gone to Heaven is where you will find wonderful hand-dyed fabrics, original quilt kits, patterns and beads to get you inspired and creating your own exciting masterpieces. Lisa Walton has been creating her own style of quilts for 18 years and has been awarded many prizes for her unique style. Lisa teaches workshops in creative beading and her most popular quilt designs all over Australia and internationally.

Lisa has been quilting for over 17 years. Starting with traditional quilt techniques/designs, she gradually developed the urge to break the rules.

Her fascinations with dyeing about 7 years ago, began with a gift of hand-dyed dyed fabrics which she tried to replicate with varying degrees of success. Trial and error over the next few years developed her design techniques which were ultimately refined when she attended Carol Soderlund's Colour Mixing for Dyers class in the USA.

She now shares the dyeing with her husband Peter who enjoys the precision of formula-based dyeing while she's able to concentrate on more serendipitous/experimental pieces. Our hand dyed fabrics and quilt kits are available through our website and sent all over the world.

Aurora

One day workshop incorporating simple piecing, machine quilting and beading. Skill level: beginner.

Crystallisation

Creative piecing using a wide variety of fabrics to create you own geometric work of art. Two-day workshop. Skill level: beginner.

Breaking the Drought

Make your own version of this Houston Finalist quilt and learn a variety of machine techniques such as embroidery, couching and other decorative stitches. Simple piecing required after embellishing fabrics. One to two day workshop. Skill Level: beginner to intermediate.

Fabrications

Fabrications combine multiple techniques of creating ‘Fantasy Fabrics’ from scraps and fibres using water-soluble stabiliser, patchwork and machine quilting. One to two day workshop. Skill level: beginner to intermediate.

Creative Beading

One day class, learning the basics of beaded embellishment for fabric. Sampler will be created using a variety of embroidery and bead stitches using seed, bugle and decorative beads..

Using your own design and the expanded square technique you will create an original quilt using fusing and reverse appliqué techniques. Skill level: beginner to intermediate.

Monthly Metres and Beautiful Bead Clubs

Quilt Patterns and Kits
All these designs are originals by Lisa Walton. Kits contain all fabric for top, binding and pattern. Coordinated backing fabric is available for each quilt.

Scrap Bags
Contain over 1.25m of coordinated hand-dyed cotton. All pieces are approximately 50cm long and perfect for scrap quilts and applique work.
