How to Knit 'Knit Stitches'

Hot Offer

The first stitch that you need to learn is the knit stitch. On this page you will find step by step instruction on how to knit 'knit stitches'.

To learn how to knit, you need two single pointed needles and a ball of wool. Before your start you will either need to learn how to cast on your stitches or have someone else do it for you.

Materials:
Step 1 Image Step 1:

Using the needle in your right hand, push your needle through the front of the first stitch on the left hand needle.

Step 2 Image Step 2:

Pull the wool around the needle in your right hand from the back of the needle to the front.

Step 3 Image Step 3:

Using the needle in your right hand, pull the loop through to the front of the work.

Step 4 Image Step 4:

Slip the stitch off the needle in your left hand.

Step 5 Image Step 5:

You should now have a new stitch on the needle in your right hand. Now you just repeat each of the steps from one to four for each stitch until you have completed the row. When you are finished your knitting should look something like this.
