Resin Rings

Hot Offer

Please read all instructions before starting.

Safety: wear gloves when working with resin. It is also advised that safety glasses be worn.
Materials:

Materials you’ll need:

  • Bqueen resin
  • Ring mould
  • Colour pigments
  • Pair of gloves
  • 2 x Measuring cups
  • Mixing cup
  • Stirring sticks
  • 1 x Wet and dry sandpaper (rough)
  • 1 x Wet and dry sandpaper (fine)
Step 1 Image Step 1:

Measure:

Measure out equal amounts of Part A and Part B
bqueen resin into separate measuring cups.
It is advised not to measure out less than 10ml of Part A and 10ml of Part B.

Pour Part A into a clean mixing cup (do not reuse mixing cups).

Colour:
To colour your resin: put a very small amount of pigment on the lip of the cup using a mixing stick, then use a clean mixing stick to add very small amounts of pigment from the lip of the cup into the resin. Mix thoroughly with Part A before adding more pigment.

Multiple pigment colours can be mixed together in the Part A resin to create new colours. For example red and white pigment mixed together will create pink.
Step 2 Image Step 2:

Mix:

Add Part B into the plastic mixing cup and mix thoroughly with the now coloured Part A.

You have approximately two minutes to mix Part A and Part B together and pour into the ring mould.

Stirring properly is essential: stir very quickly in one direction for approximately fifteen seconds. Do not fold.

Once mixed, pour resin slowly into the ring mould until the mould is full.

Demould:
Wait approximately 20 minutes until the resin is set (not sticky) before removing the ring from the mould.

Wait until the ring has fully set before sanding its rough side into a smooth shape suitable for wearing.

Don’t wear ring unless rough edge has been removed as sharp edges may cut skin.
Step 3 Image Step 3:

Finishing:

When sanding, wet the sandpaper with tap water. This will reduce dust and improve the quality of finish.

Using the rougher grade sandpaper, sand the jagged edges of the ring to achieve a smooth curved edge. Use the rough grade sandpaper to put any shaping you desire into the ring.

Then, use the finer grade sandpaper to buff out any remaining scratches left from when you sanded with the rough sandpaper.

Once sanding is finished, rub hand moisturizer or cooking oil onto the surface of the ring. This will bring out the colour in the ring.
