Project: Bangle Mould

Hot Offer

When sculpting a bangle, you will need to keep one side flat which will be stuck down to the bottom of the plastic container.

Take time sculpting the bangle. All details present in the Klean Klay will show up in your mould.

Tip: you don’t have to make your mould from a sculpted Klean Klay bangle. If you have a bangle at home you would like to make a mould of, simple stick it to the bottom of the plastic container and pour your Pinkysil over the top.

Tip: ensure your bangle is stuck firmly to the bottom of the container or it will float upwards when you pour in the Pinkysil. Where your bangle is stuck to the plastic container will later become the opening of your mould.

Design bangle:

Sculpt a bangle using Klean Klay.

Step 1 Image Step 1:
Setting up your mould:

Place the flat side of bangle into the middle of the plastic container. Ensure there is at least a 5mm gap between the Klean Klay bangle and the outside of the plastic container. Press the bangle so that it sticks to the bottom of the plastic container.

Place a solid cylinder shaped lump of Klean Klay into the middle of the bangle to create a void in the mould (this will save wastage of Pinkysil). Ensure the bangle is stuck to bottom of container.

Step 2 Image Step 2:
Mix Pinkysil:
Measure out equal amounts of the pink and white silicone components into separate measuring cups.

Then pour both into a plastic container.

Quickly mix the two amounts together with a wooden mixing stick until there are no white or pink streaks in the mixture.

Then pour the mixed Pinkysil over the top of your Klean Klay bangle (which is in the plastic container) until you have covered the bangle by at least 5mm. You have approximately 6 minutes to mix and pour the Pinkysil.

If you run out of silicone before you reach this level, you can always top it up as Pinkysil will stick to Pinkysil.

Step 3 Image Step 3:
Demould:
It will normally take between 20 and 50 minutes for the Pinkysil to set.

Once it is set remove the mould from the plastic container and Klean Klay. You may need to cut the container away from the Pinkysil mould to release it. Ensure you don’t scratch the inside of the mould when removing the Klean Klay.

The opening of the mould may need to be trimmed with scissors if necessary.

Step 4 Image Step 4:
Calculating the volume of your mould:
To calculate how much resin is required to fill your mould, place the Klean Klay you used to sculpt the bangle into a large measuring container of water and see how much the water rises. The amount the water rises is the amount of resin required to fill your mould.
