Class Programmes and Wokshops

Feature Image
By: Bibiani

Classes are held at Bibiani on the first and last Saturdays of the month, as well as some Wednesday evenings. If a class that you are interested in is not offered in the current programme, or you cannot attend a class and you would like to, please contact me. If you have friends that would like to do a class, special classes can be arranged. Individual tuition is also available by arrangement.

Class Programmes on offer are as follows:

A.T.C. Techniques

  • Cost is $30 (includes $6 materials levy)
  • Sunday 28th June 2009, 10:00am - 1:00pm

Artist Trading Cards are small works of art that are traded with other artists. Their small size makes them ideal to experiment with new techniques. Start by making a couple of easy backgrounds and go from there! We’ll cover the concept of design sketches to help make your layout look its best and use a variety of materials and techniques to create the A.T.Cs.

No Sew, No Glue Mini-books

  • Cost is $30 (includes $6 materials levy)
  • Sunday 28th June 2009, 1:30pm - 4:30pm

No glue or sewing skills required! These little books are made using clever cutting and folding. We’ll even make some no glue soft covers. Making books with blank paper is a bit boring, so we’ll use some simple techniques to decorate the paper first.

Star Book

  • Cost is $55 (includes $20 kit)
  • Sunday 5th July 2009, 10:00am - 4:00pm

This book is ideal to use to scrapbook a special event or as the basis for your own story. When open, the book forms a multi-layered star, but folds flat for storage. This workshop is only for those with patience as it there is a lot of gluing! Please bring 2 rolls of double sided tape and an old phone book or old magazines.

Additional kits will be available for purchase.

Christmas Cards in July

  • Cost is $30 (includes $6 materials levy)
  • Sunday 26th July 2009, 10:00am - 1:00pm

Get a head start making your cards this year. You’ll be surprised how paper napkins, rubber stamps and collage elements can be used to make great looking cards.

Shaker Christmas Cards in July

  • Cost is $30 (includes $6 materials levy)
  • Sunday 26th July 2009, 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Use acetate, rubber stamps, glass paints, confetti and glitter to make Christmas cards which are sure to delight your friends. If you haven’t seen a shaker card, picture a card with a window containing glitter or confetti which moves freely.

A Taster of Future Workshops to be run by Irena Kozakiewicz

Calculator Books

Ever wished there was an easy way to make long accordion books without measuring, cutting strips and gluing? Bit bored with accordion books and want some ideas for making them more interesting? This workshop starts with a basic accordion and then expands the concept. Make accordion books with soft or hard covers, pop-ups, doors, tabs and even a skewer spine! You won’t believe how impressive they can look (and of course we’ll start by decorating the paper).

Decorative Paper Bowl

Use decorative paper and glue to make a stunning bowl, then scroll wire to make a gorgeous stand for the bowl. A modern twist on old-fashioned paper mache.

Green, Cream and Gold Christmas Cards

Use traditional colours and rubber stamps to make a variety of Christmas Cards. We might even add a touch of red. Learn how to make a half-and-half card (where the card looks like it is half one colour and half another), an "inside-out" card (where the image is stamped on the inside and then through some simple cutting, forms the front of the card), antique paper and how to layer for maximum effect.

Paper Purses and Handbags

These cute little items can be used as cards or placecards or even to hold small gifts. Use a template and some cutting and folding to make the basic shape. Then have fun expressing your individuality by decorating them.
