Stoneware Clays

Fine White Stoneware
Very high quality white firing clay. Excellent body for throwing tableware. Good colour response and glaze fit. White in oxidation, light grey in reduction. Suitable for raw glazing. Bisque 05(1050oC). Glaze Cone 7-10(1215-1280oC).Shrinkage aprox.12% -80 mesh.


White Stoneware Paper Clay

Is based on this clay with the addition of cellulose fibre. Available as normal paper clay with recycled paper pulp, or as Gold Label Paper Clay, using a super fine white paper dust, for a very fine paper clay for throwing, turning, decoating etc.

 

Woodfire SToneware
Clay body designed for wood firing and /or salt glazing. Based on Gulgong white and red clays, it contains a high amount of Rhyolite. Relatively low shrinkage and good colour response make it a suitable body for wood firing. Normal stoneware glazes can be used.

 

Extremely good throwing clay, also good for slab work.

 

Porcelain
Extremely white clay. Suitable for fine work. Good plasticity. Translucent when thin. Excellent glaze fit. Shrinkage aprox.13%. Bisque 06(1000oC). Glaze Cones 9-10(1260-1280oC) -100 mesh.

 

Gold Label Porcelain Paper Clay

Is this clay with the addition of super fine white paper dust, resulting in a very fine porcelain paper clay for throwing, turning and,or carving. Leaves a fine surface for decorating on.
