Country Quilt Co in-store classes are educational and fun! All classes are held in the cozy and relaxed sewing room of the shop. You'll be surrounded by wonderful fabrics and friends, all while learning new techniques that will make your crafting easier and better.

 

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned sewer there's a variety of classes at Country Quilt Co to choose from.

 

Kits can be made up for classes in your favourite colours. Phone the shop to discuss your needs.

 

Bookings are required and places are limited so book online to ensure your spot!

 

Bag Ladies Club

 

Handbags and totes are one of the hottest accessories and stitching up your own is an easy way to show off your personal style.

 

For the membership price of $40 you are entitled to attend one demonstration class a month. Bag Ladies Club members will also be able to purchase kits to make up the bag at a super discounted price (if bought on the day of the club meeting) and receive 10% off all bag making paraphernalia for the whole year.

 

Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month. You can choose afternoon (1-2:30pm) or evening (6-7:30pm).

 

Tutors are Suzanne Conroy and Marian Dorey.

 

Strip Club

 

Discover a new pattern each month for a wonderful project using strips of fabric.

 

For the membership price of $40 Strip Club members will learn a different block each month. Along with the demonstration attendess will be able to purchase discounted fabric and strip club special kits on the night of the club meeting.

 

Meetings are the last Friday of each month from 7-9pm. Tutors are Suzanne Conroy and Marian Dorey.

 

Embroidery Class

 

Make some time for yourself to attend a weekly get-together with other stitchers. With the expert guidance of Marian Dorey you can relax, socialise, sew and learn - all in just a few hours a week.

 

Each session is $10.00. You may book and pay for as many as you like. Choose Tuesday mornings (9:30am-12:00pm) or Thursday evenings (6:00-8:30pm).

 

Needle Turn Applique Workshop
In this workshop you'll create an unusual wallhanging with needle turn applique and some trapunto work. It's sure to be a fun and rewarding day.

 

Workshop held on January 24th (10:00am-3:00pm). Tutor is Marian Dorey.

 

Quilt As You Go Workshop

 

Quilt As You Go is a must have skill for quiltmakers! Once you discover how this handy technique works you'll be amazed at how often you can use it. The Quilt As You Go 4 Patch Quilt by Linda Mahoney Designs is the basis for this fantastic class.

 

Workshop held on January 29th (10:00am-4:00pm). Tutor is Linda Mahoney.

 

Hearts & Flowers Chenille Pillow

 

Learn the techniques and tips to make a sweet chenille pillow.

 

Choose to attend the 1/2 day Workshop held on Saturday Feb 14th (12:30am-3:30pm) or Thursday Feb 19th (12:30am-3:30pm). Tutor is Suzanne Conroy.

 

Stained Glass Celtic Class

 

Celebrate St Patrick's day by learning a celtic inspired technique. Make a stained glass wallhanging or pillow cover. Learn the trick to making your own bias (saves money!) and how to bring your project to life.

 

Class to be held on the 17th. Choose afternoon (12:00pm-3:00pm) or evening (6:00pm-9:00pm). Tutor is Suzanne Conroy.

 

Shattered Glass Window Class

 

Another easy technique with amazing results. Make a wallhanging that really looks like the light is shining through it.

 

Class to be held on March 28th from 12:30pm-3:30pm. Tutor is Suzanne Conroy.

 

Finish It Off
Set up your machine or settle down with your handwork and we'll provide you with the guidance you're missing at home. With Suzanne and Marian on hand to provide you with ideas and inspiration you can finally get those projects finished.

 

Bookings are a good idea to make sure there is enough room for everyone. Only $5 per hour - and we provide the refreshments. Choose the 1st Saturday of the month from 1-5pm or the 2nd Friday of the month from 9am-9pm. You're welcome to come for one hour or as many as you like.

 

Christmas Club

 

It's never too soon to get ready for Christmas! This year beat the Christmas rush. Each month in the Christmas Club you'll learn how to make a little gift or small trinket to decorate your home.

 

Kits will be available for purchase on the day.

 

1st Saturday morning of each month from 9:30am-12:30pm. Tutors

are Suzanne Conroy and Marian Dorey.

 

Nice People, Nice Things Club

 

Are you doing the NP;NT quilt? Why not get-together with other nice people to have a nice time making this nice quilt! Just wait until you see how different they all look. It's the perfect project for a bit of stitching and sharing time. You'll also learn new ideas and techniques, including fun ways to embellish your blocks. Cost is $7.50 per session plus the BOM or BOW.

 

Tutors are Suzanne Conroy and Marian Dorey.

 

Choose from a Monday (6:00-8:30pm) or a Thursday (9:30am-12:00pm) session. Sessions are on the first, third and fifth Mondays and Thursdays of the month.

 

Winter Warmer Quilt Workshop

 

Get ready for winter. This project is a quick and pretty raggy quilt, perfect to snuggle under. Choose Monday March 9th (10:00pm-3:00pm) or Saturday March 14th (10:00pm-3:00pm). Tutor is Suzanne Conroy.

 

Hand Quilting Class

Join this class and learn the relaxing art of hand quilting while creating a small cushion. Kit is included in class price. This is a prerequisite to the Hand Trapunto Class.

 

Saturday, Feb 21st(1:00pm-3:30pm). Tutor is Suzanne Conroy.

 

Hand Trapunto Class
Using your sample from the Hand Quilting Class you'll add highlights and details with gorgeous trapunto work. In this class you'll develop skills handy for embellishing other projects. Supplies included in class price.
