Handcrafters House

Handcrafters House is located in the heart of Midland, on the verge of the Swan Valley, not far from some of the best wineries in Western Australia. Handcrafters House is in a central and convenient location with excellent parking facilities, not too far from public transport and situated very close to the expanding Midland Gate Shopping Centre. Surrounded by tasteful cafés and specialty shops, visiting Handcrafters House can be a wonderful day-out experience.

Handcrafters House was opened in September 2003, when we (Norwest Craft) realised that there were not many general craft shops left in WA, opening a location in Midland seemed a great idea and wonderful opportunity to give the residents in and around the area a warm and friendly place to shop for their craft needs.

We have upheld our 'General' craft shop status, although streamlined somewhat, and now Handcrafters Hosue carry supplies for Quilting, Knitting, Doll & Bear making, Beading, Embroidery & Cross Stitch and more. The shop has loads of craft accessories and notions, plus patterns, kits, books and plenty of helpful ideas as well! Michelle Pearson and her staff are committed to a high quality of customer service and creating a warm and friendly atmosphere to make their customers feel welcome. Pre-packed kits are available for those who lead busy lifestyles, or if you have a personal project and need fabrics and accessories, bring the project with you, and they will be glad to help you out! Mail orders are encouraged for those customers who are unable to visit the store.

Michelle teaches 6 regular classes a week at Handcrafters House that are extremely popular! All the classes are taught from her own pattern range, Raggedy Stitches, and are designed for the beginner to intermediate crafter. Michelle likes to teach projects that are 100% achievable within the course timeframe, even for beginners. As a result of the friendships forged within these craft classes, the students have formed the Monday Club which is held once a month at Handcrafters House, where people make cushions, hats, teddies and other items and donate them to Ronald McDonald House (RMH). This effort has seen wonderfully made projects go to many special children and their families, making their time of healing at the RMH just that little bit nicer.

On top of regular classes Michelle also holds quilting retreats twice a year at the wonderful Avalon Retreat Homestead in Toodyay. Due to the popularity of the Retreats, Michelle is looking to hold extra retreats and perhaps expand into doll making projects also.
