We offer a wide range of social groups or workshops with new classes starting all the time. The workshops are held at our shop. To take part in the workshops, all fees must be paid in advance.

 

Social Sewing Groups

• Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening.
• Cost: $5.00
• Time: 7pm to 9.30 pm
• Bring current project along

Social Knitting Group

• Meets every Wednesday 12.30 to 3 pm
• This is purely a social group and there is no cost involved unless you have a cup of tea or coffee then $2.00 donation
• Name and phone contact is required 

 

Patchwork Beginners Class

• Learn how to use and construct a quilt With Janelle Noack
• 1 day class
• Cost: $40.00
• Wednesday, Day Time 9.30 to 4pm

 

Beginners Patchwork Class - Tutor Janelle Noak

• Janelle specialises in rotary cutting and machine piecing. Janelle has just started releasing patterns using these techniques.
• Class Fee $40.00 day plus fabrics
• Prior to class you will be given a requirements sheet that will inform you of what products and sewing tools are needed for the class.
• This is a beginner and refresher class involving rotary cutting and piecing techniques of many of the traditional quilt blocks. All the blocks made will be used to make 1 or many quilts over the 12 months. Flying Geese- half square triangle, many stars and basic square blocks to complete a large quilt. You may work on any of the quilts that Janelle has designed – samples on display
• This is an ongoing class held on the first Saturday each month and can be entered at any time
• This class is held on the First Saturday of every month

Judy Miller

• It is with Great Pleasure that we welcome Judy Miller to our team of teachers.
• We have a beautiful Quilt on display that Judy has agreed to display to show her work. It is a depiction of Cecil Barkers Flower Fairies including Wizards and Dragons. Come and see the quilt while it is on display or see here. This is Judy’s own design.
• Judy is offering her wealth of knowledge in the quilt while it is on display. This is Judy’s own design.
• Judy is offering her wealth of knowledge in:
  • Wool embroidery and creative wool embroidery – 3 hours Wednesday 10am to 1pm weekly
  • Candlewicking and creative candlewicking
  • General Embroidery and Creative Embroidery
  • Smocking
  • Monogramming – This is a full day class
  • Heirloom Embroidery
• A Saturday Class would be available if we get enough demand
• Class fees must be paid in advance for a 6 week period Cost $150.00

 

Beading Workshop with Gillian Walker

• 2 day workshop over Saturday and Sunday
• Gillian Walker In this class you will learn the techniques of various forms of beading stitches
• Needle weaving, brick stitch and other forms of stitches to complete. Jewellery, book marks, bags, flowers etc
• This class will be held on Saturday and Sunday depending on customer demand
• Names are being taken

Patchwork Class - Hopscotch Quilt Class with Janelle Noack

• A 10-month BOM is another great design concept by Janelle. Janelle has constructed this quilt as a quilt as you go method. The blocks in this quilt are 20” square. Total quilt size is 70” square. The blocks are constructed and quilted and then joined using sashing strips when completed.
• Saturday Class Cost $40.00 for the day
• Come and join us to make this lovely quilt consisting of rotary cutting and machine piecing techniques and machine quilting great for the new to patchwork students.
• Weekend classes on a monthly basis
• Class starts on the 18th July on a monthly basis

Pattern Alteration & Development With Rose Organ

• Pattern alteration designing from blocks for Ladies with full figure problems come and get perfect fitting bodices, skirt or trousers. Learn these skills to apply into designing beautiful outfits for formal to casual wear.
• Running over 2 day workshop
• Cost: $50.00 per day
• Weekend workshops
• Ring to book This is not a sewing but a designing class

 

Machine Quilting Class with Ruth Hawkins

• Come and join Ruth and learn the techniques of machine quilting. This is a beginners class
• Names are being taken to gauge interest and dates will be set this term and next. $40.00 a day on a Saturday or Sunday

Construct a Soft Toy with Judy Miller

• Judy has a new pattern. It is a gorgeous bunny that has been handed down in her family for several generations. Can be made into a little girl or boy. She has not named them yet but we will find out the name soon. It is constructed in homespun with a dress or trousers.
• This is a one-day class and a sample will be on display soon.
• $40. 1 day class

• Starting from the 27th June during winter we will have a resident Knitting Guru Pam every two weeks on Saturday Mornings 10am to 12.30.
• Pam will be available to share her wealth of knowledge with customers.
• She will be on hand to answer all your knitting questions.
