Tips
Clear Stamps
Do you ever have trouble with clear stamps (new ones especially) and your ink beading on the surface causing your stamped image to be blotchy? Well there is a solution. With a fine sanding block, gently sand the image side of your stamp until it looks slightly cloudy, this will make the surface a bit rough and your ink won't bead on the surface anymore.
Problem Rub-on's
Ever had that problem where your rub-on just didn't work? Next problem......how to get the bit off that did work? No problem.
Use your Xyron adhesive eraser!! Simply move it in a small circular motion over the part of the rub-on that you would like to remove!! This works best straight away, if you leave it too long the rub-on will stick to the cardstock too much!
Clear Alphabet Stamp Tip
Ever want to stamp the word "baby" in one impression? You can in lower case....simply use the letter "q" upside down (depending on the font) and it looks just like a lower case "b".
Canvas Photo Effect
Want to achieve the look of a canvas print on your layout? Simply print your photo directly onto a textured cardstock, such as the Bazzill Linen Texture. White will give you true colours, but try experimenting with different colours for different effects. For example a light brown cardstock will give you a sepia tone.
Textured Background
Try folding a piece of cardstock on various angles to create your own customised textured background. A light misting with water will make the cardstock more pliable and give you a "grungier" effect. Once dry, try distressing further with a sanding block.
Punches
To punch through thin tissue and handmade papers, place a layer of scrap cardstock underneath and punch through both the paper and cardstock.
If your punch gets sticky or stiff, punch through a piece of wax paper.
If your punch seems to be getting blunt, punch through a piece of foil folded a few times, or better still a piece of metal shim.
As a final resort to removing jammed cardstock from your punch, try putting the punch in the freezer. The metal will contract and release the paper.
For accurate placement of your punch, turn your punch upsidedown so you can see where you are punching.
