Roger, I purchased one of your jigs and a number of templates plus cutters at the Sydney wood and working with wood show. My original intention had been to purchase a LEIGH at the show and price was not a consideration. After watching your demo I was sold! The complexity of the competition was obvious and furthermore the LEIGH sales rep at the show was unable to consistently produce good quality joints.

 

On my very first attempt and within 2 hours of opening the box I was producing excellent quality joints. This is probably a testament to the quality of the jig and not necessarily skill on my part.

My face inlay cutter has arrived - thanks very much. I just wanted to say thankyou for the jig etc that arrived last week - I've tried it out and I still keep thinking I must be doing something wrong because it's too easy, but it is consistently accurate and my joints keep working. Your video is also great, as are the boxmaking plans and all the instructions which came with the jig etc. Over the years I have purchased a great deal of woodworking equipment and three of the most impressive things I have found in dealing with you are:

• your efficiency,
• being able to ring and talk directly to you, and
• you supplied absolutely everything needed for the jig - I didn't have to find paper for the shims, I don't have to make up my own MDF backboards for each template etc etc. Everything was there.

Just a quick note for your feedback file - I used the dovetail jig on the weekend and I could not be more pleased with the results. ( First time perfect no adjustment req'd) The results were fantasic. In fact I took my project into work which created a lot of interest, so I hope you get some business by 'word of mouth'. Ref the history on this E-mail, I am still to receive the video. Having said that, there is no hurry as I am starting uni this week which cuts greatly into my hobby time.

Dear Roger and Jenny,

 

Thank you for the faster-than-light delivery of the jig, I have never had an internet order arrive so quickly.

 

I must admit that usually I take claims such as "works right out of the box" with a grain of salt but I was stunned at how spot-on the jig is. All I did was put the bit in the router, put the timber on the jig and two shakes later- presto a perfect joint. I have used other more expensive dovetail "machines" and found that the result is somewhat lacking when compared to the money, time and effort that goes into setting them up but the Gifkins jig has left me stunned at how simple it is to produce professional quality dovetail joints.

 

P.S. Thanks for the free square, it's just what I needed.

Thanks for sending the new stop for my dovetail jig.I tried it today (Fri 3rd) and found it to be far more accurate than the other one.There was no step at all when the pieces were joined together.I would also like to thank you for being so courteous and very helpful and expedient with dealing with my problem.The other stop I'll post back to you next week.

My name is John Angelopoulos and the reason i am sending you this e-mail is to tell you how pleased i am with your dovetail jig. I bought the deluxe package about a year ago now, and i must say i was and still am extremely happy with it.

 

I use it so often that i even bought a second triton router table so i could have one set up with the straight bit and the other with the dovetail bit.

I cannot praise your dovetail jig highly enough, I have no trouble using it at all and the results are just marvellous I recommend it to my fellow woodworkers.

 

Just one small question could you please advise me where I can purchase those small round hinges used on your boxes and others. I don’t want the ones that require you to recess the back of the box.

I am very pleased with the jig. The quality of construction and ease of use are top notch.

 

There were many positive comments when I demonstrated it at the Triton club meeting. The obvious advantage is the fact that the router is held, this makes it so much easier for those of us of advancing years and arthritic joints.

 

With some careful measuring & thought I can see quite a variety of joints that will be able to be constructed.
